The Centre for Women is Hiring a Program Director Near Tampa, FL

The Tampa Bay Women’s Business Centre is the only SBA-designated Women’s Business Centre on the west coast of Florida. It is one of six programs at The Helen Gordon Davis Centre for Women and part of a national network of WBCs dedicated to helping aspiring and nascent entrepreneurs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Centre for Women seeks an outgoing, organized, communicative, visionary who is adept at fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth to lead operations for The Tampa Bay Women’s Business Centre. The program director will drive engagement, inspire teams, and ensure seamless execution of initiatives. The candidate must have exemplary interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration, stakeholder satisfaction, and ultimately contribute to the program's success and sustainability. Marketing expertise and grant writing ability required.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Critical functions that the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.

1. Overseeing the day-to-day operations and administration of the Tampa Bay WBC through:

· Overseeing administrative aspects of WBC including staff, office and facility operations, and technology.

· Working with staff to deliver, monitor, and evaluate programs and services consistent with organizational capabilities and priorities.

· Mobilizing and delegating appropriate responsibilities to staff, advisory board, committees, individual volunteers, and contractors to implement the annual plan.

· Managing the SBA relationship including grant applications, relationship-building, reporting, and requirements monitoring

· Marketing the Women’s Business Center

· Developing a long-term strategic plan to position the Tampa Bay WBC as a national model.

· Leading the staff in developing annual plans with budget and measurable outcomes

· Working collaboratively with other Centre for Women staff on issues of contract deliverables, staffing, budget oversight, fund development, reporting, and Advisory Board development.

2. Recruiting, developing, and managing the staff through:

· Articulating staff roles and responsibilities

· Hiring, supervising, training, motivating, evaluating, developing, promoting, and managing staff

· Setting and managing staff expectations, goals, and outcomes

3. Managing the image of the Tampa Bay WBC and advocating for women business owners through:

· Marketing and performing effective community outreach.

· Directing WBC events and participating in other Centre for Women events.

· Representing the WBC and ensuring visibility of women business owners in the media, at public events, and otherwise to the public

· Advocating for the WBC and women’s business ownership with state and federal law makers, policy making groups

· Providing intellectual leadership in the community to ensure issues impacting women business owners are considered and addressed.

· Providing content to Centre for Women marketing staff for vehicles including the website, newsletter, website, brochure, and other publications

· Maintaining relationships with a broad range of constituency including funders, volunteers, program and community partners, clients, and the public

4. Managing the WBC’s finances through:

· Recommending an annual budget for review and approval

· Managing the budget and ensuring the WBC’s continued financial strength throughout the year taking into account changes to the financial picture

· Working with the COO to monitor the budget and ensure that adequate funds are raised to operate the organization and to maintain a solvent financial position

· Develop, prioritize and pursue funding opportunities and nurturing relationships with funders in coordination with the Executive Director and Development staff

· Maintain a sound fiscal management system including budgeting, accounting, reporting, and auditing activity in cooperation with Centre for Women Finance and Accounting staff

· KEY ACTION: Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to creatively develop solutions, as necessary.

· KEY ACTION: Ability and desire to create relationships with funders and to seek out sources of support for the program in concert with the Executive Director and

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of relevant experience with progressively increasing responsibilities or equitable work experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to practice autonomously and with minimum supervision. Must pass Level II background screening. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsing, and e-mail communication. Able to understand and follow the network security policies and electronic protected information confidentiality and security policies. Able to lift up to 10 lbs., push, pull, stoop, bend, talk, hear and see. Has the ability to travel to office locations and to work from home. Is willing to flex schedules to meet consumer needs. Reliable transportation. Available for some evening and weekend work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
