Stemming from family traditions and a love of baking, The Bronx Bagel Buggy is a locally-owned bakery that provides the bold taste of the North in the South. We use fresh ingredients to make authentic boiled New York style bagels, bialys, and more! With the grand opening of our first store, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team!
The Role:
We’re looking for a food service professional, however, we are open to training anyone with a passion for baking. Our bagels are rolled before boiling and baking. We also make pastries, pizzas, and sandwiches in house as well as make our own cream cheese spreads. We're mostly self-taught bakers and care about doing things right.
Responsibilities:
- Making dough and rolling bagels
- Boiling & baking bagels
- Preparing cream cheese spreads, deli items and pastries
- Kitchen clean up
- Putting orders away
- Recipe development
What We’re Looking for:
- Prior kitchen experience required, experience in bread or pastries preferred
- High stamina and endless hustle
- Available and willing to work early mornings
- Fit enough to lift 50-lb bags of flour and stand on your feet for hours at a day
- Above all, we value reliability. You must always be on time and ready to work at your best.
The physical demands for this position are sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
