Summary and Qualifications:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is a professional who demonstrates a commitment in the management of the dually diagnosed client. The Licensed Practical Nurse in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, plans for, implements and evaluates nursing care provided to a select group of patients ranging in age from young adult to geriatric, and their families within the context of organizational and nursing department philosophy and goals. He/she is expected to apply hospital and nursing service policies and procedures when rendering nursing care and providing health teaching to patients and families. Recognizing that nursing care is one portion of health care, the Licensed Practical Nurse is expected to interact with staff, physicians and other departments in a collegial relationship in order to meet patient and family needs.
Qualifications:
Graduate from a NLN accredited school of practical nursing.
One year of nursing practice preferred.
Psychiatric or addiction nursing experience desired.
Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Practical Nurse licensure.
Successful completion of The Be Well Center orientation and hospital required certification.
Bi-lingual capabilities (English/Spanish) desired.
Detoxification Unit Experience desired.
