The Bank of Tampa is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near Tampa, FL

Position OverviewThe Human Resources team is a critical component of the Bank’s success, providing strategic and operational support that enables the exceptional delivery of all of our Banking products and services through the selection, development and retention of a highly capable workforce. Our Human Resources team implements, manages and supports activities that address: staffing, learning and organizational development, training, benefits, employee relations, and engagement needs across the Bank.
The goal of the HR Business Partner is to work with HR colleagues, and leaders at all levels across the Bank to support employees throughout the employment lifecycle. In addition, this role supports relationships, systems, and processes necessary to retain engaged employees.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Consistently delivers outstanding client service; providing premiere client satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
  • Acts as a cultural ambassador to internal and external clients, providing a professional, exceptional, and supportive experience with each interaction.
  • Acts as an HR Business Partner for the organization, collaborating with multiple organizational units to support a people strategy in line with organizational goals and values.
  • Provides consultation and recommendations regarding employee compensation.
  • Manages employee relations for multiple organizational units; conducts and documents investigations and recommends legally sound solutions that maximize opportunities for success of employees and the business.
  • Maintains a positive employee relations climate by facilitating discussions or by providing consistent advice and guidance to managers and employees for problem resolution of work-related conflict.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable local, state and federal employment laws.
  • Reviews and provides constructive feedback on disciplinary action documentation and recommends the appropriate level of disciplinary action in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Escalates complex employee relations matters to HR Leadership as needed.
  • Supports coaching conversations and activities for employees transitioning into new roles or teams.
  • Partners with Organizational Development to facilitate projects like team building, new leader transitions, and leadership development.
  • Facilitates Predictive Index feedback sessions for employees at critical points in the employee life cycle, i.e. new hire, promotion, transfer.
  • Acts as an administrator for the performance management system.
  • Collaborates with HR colleagues to drive efficiencies and leverage best practices for continuous improvement.
  • Performs stay and exit interviews; compiles, and analyses data for trends and recommends appropriate actions.
  • Acts as back up to Benefits Partner to include:
  • Prepares and processes payroll (completing Payroll Action Notices; working with timecard supervisors and payroll manager);
  • Provides administrative support to HR team;
  • Willingness to travel ~50% of the time across the counties in which The Bank of Tampa operates.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years in an HR Generalist role or employee relations role.
  • 4-Year Undergraduate Degree (e.g., BA or BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Human Resources field.
  • Demonstrated administrative, managerial, teamwork and collaborative abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Adequate knowledge of community banking, banking operations, and banking regulation.
  • Familiarity with ADP, Cornerstone Talent Management System.
  • Certified Predictive Index analyst.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification.
