The Arc of Blackstone Valley is a private non-profit agency that supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in all areas of daily living.
The Human Resources Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resource Department.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Associates Degree/Certificate in human resources, business administration or related field, and/or two to four years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; the ability to interpret and apply a variety of laws, rules, policies and procedures related to human resources administration; the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, handle personnel matters effectively, and handle employee and public personnel inquiries with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy; maintain a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public; knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; training and experience in general office procedures, policies and methods; knowledge in the use of office equipment, excellent written and oral communication skills; experience in dealing with the public/employees; ability to use good judgment in the completion of a variety of work situations; ability to organize and plan work to meet deadlines; ability to analyze data and provide recommendations; have and maintain a valid driver’s license, registration, insurance and inspection with an acceptable driving record and a reliable vehicle; not have any disqualifying crimes in a current BCI and/or NCIC criminal background check.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer video monitor an operating a keyboard. The employee is required to stand, walk and sit. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands in order to answer phones, write and type; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear. Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods of time, walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting books and files and or move up to 25 pounds.
