The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is Hiring a Technology Project Manager Near Washington, DC

Overview

The Technology Project Manager oversees technology projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying data-driven decision making and defining success metrics to ensure project excellence. Responsible for leading initiatives that enable ACOG personnel to carry out internal operations and mission-focused work, as well as major end-user facing technology solutions for members. Participate in project activities including identifying and documenting user stories, producing documentation, testing and end-user training.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple, complex, and multifaceted internal and external-facing technology projects simultaneously, including defining project scopes, setting realistic timelines, performing risk mitigation, and managing resources effectively to advance the organization's goals and ensure alignment with business objectives.• Communicate project status, risks, issues and change requests to stakeholders. Escalate to leadership when needed.• Provide project leadership, guidance, and support while working closely with staff. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to maximize productivity and efficiency.• Ensure successful delivery of outsourced projects and services in collaboration with external vendors. Evaluate vendor performance and manage relationships to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.• Track progress across multiple projects, monitoring metrics to optimize efficiency.• Utilize data analysis and metrics to inform project decisions, track progress to goals, and optimize project outcomes.• Develop and maintain solid understanding of core technologies in use at ACOG and research new technologies that could be leveraged to address organizational needs• Perform business analysis activities including gathering requirements, documenting user stories, writing test cases and conducting testing/QA activities.• Identify innovating solutions by conducing analysis of problems and challenges. Contribute ideas related to buy vs build decisions.• Define project management process and methodologies in collaboration with leadership. Implement and adhere to established processes across projects to ensure efficient and quality delivery.• Employ agile project management frameworks to ensure flexibility, timely delivery, and quality results.• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field of studies required.• 5 years’ experience managing technology projects.• PMP, CSM certification or progress towards certification preferred.• Strong leadership, time management, organization, and communication skills.• Experience managing external vendors.• Skilled in data analysis to drive decisions and optimization.• Able to collaborate cross functionally to achieve results.• Ability to take direction and work independently, or as part of a team, on assigned tasks with keen attention to detail.• Solution-focused mindset with analytical approach to solving problems proactively.• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong written communication to produce clear documentation like project plans, test plans, status reports, requirements, processes, etc.• Excellent meeting facilitation skills and ability to create agendas and meeting notes.• Knowledge of agile development processes like Scrum.
