The Company: Tharp Custom Cabinetry is a custom cabinet manufacturer, founded in 1971, so we have been in business for over 50 years. We do more than just make cabinets. We deliver dreams and deliver WOW by providing excellent customer service, while utilizing the latest manufacturing automation. What Success Looks Like:

  • Grow Sales by 20% year over year. 
  • Exceed Colorado permit growth by 200 bps.
    • Recognize growth even when permits are down.
  • Manage Loveland and Denver showrooms.
  • Manage Business Development and Marketing to grow market share on Front Range. 
  • Teach and evangelize how value based / solution-based selling fulfills customer needs.
    • Find and sell opportunities for services.
    • Manage sales funnel and lead generation.
    • Manage lead generation, pricing, and contracts.
  • Grow Gross Margin 100 bps per year through Strategic Pricing.
  • Continually balance Quality with Pricing and Margin.
    • Hold Sales accountable to quality processes and quality checks.
    • Use proper incentives to align behavior across sales team (Sales vs margin vs quality).
    • Decrease Sales and Design misses to drafting by 25% per year.
  • Foster a Sales culture of positivity and solving customer issues through our unique capabilities.
  • Manage New Product Development.

  • Proven ability to analyze commercial issues/problems, develop solutions, and make sound recommendations.

  • Demonstrated strength in communications, conducting effective meetings or presentations and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals, establish credibility and contribute to a collaborative work environment, including leading a team and interacting with all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to concisely and confidently deconstruct and articulate complex analytical findings using simple concepts/comparisons.
  • Proficiency in project/program management with the ability to make decisions as circumstances change.
  • Proven ability to interpret design requirements and planning the sequence of drawings, reviewing designs for the most efficient and profitable use of inventory, equipment, and labor.
  • Capable of highly organized, multi-tasking from concept inception to completion.
  • Passion for problem solving and driving success.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MSOffice and Outlook. Cabinet Vision is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary custom software solutions.

Working relationships: The job will consist of daily communication requirements with a wide variety of people, including but not limited to; Tharp personnel including the senior leadership team, company managers, A/R and A/P, Manufacturing personnel, Service staff, Delivery staff, Installation Staff, Contractors/Builder executives, Contractor/Builder Site personnel and will require professionalism and business acumen.

Anticipated work schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with once-a-week trips to the Denver showroom.

Education or Formal Training:

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required or applicable work experience. 

What You Have Done: 

  • Excelled in Manufacturing Sales for five years or more.
  • Prospered in a role where you have designed or coached designers to create amazing designs, balancing function, and aesthetics.
  • Led and managed people to achieve remarkable results. 
  • If you have worked in cabinetry, all the better.
