Glimpse into the Job:
The Library Associate I (Resource Sharing), under direction, coordinates resource sharing activities, workflows, and procedures including management of the interlibrary loan, document delivery, and Texshare programs.
Opportunities to Contribute:
Functional Area 1: Resource Sharing
Coordinate resource sharing activities, workflows and procedures including management of the interlibrary loan, document delivery, and Texshare programs, exercising independent judgement in creating and overseeing processes and monitoring efficiency.
Update, modify, and maintain resource sharing software and platforms, and monitor for proper interoperability with connected library systems.
Be familiar with copyright law as it applies to the library's resource sharing program. Assess copyright compliance and address issues. Maintain current awareness of developments in this area.
Assess options for obtaining material requested by patrons, determining whether loan or purchase is indicated; when purchasing, work with multiple vendors to acquire both print and digital titles, consulting with subject librarians as appropriate.
Collaborates with other library units to ensure efficient fulfillment of resource sharing requests.
Compile statistics for library reports, ACRL/IPEDs, programs reviews, collection management, and library assessment activities.
Train other Access Services staff on resource sharing activities as necessary.
Functional Area 2: Access Services Support
Design, update, and maintain assigned library website sub-pages.
Monitor Access Services communication channels and respond promptly and courteously.
Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student employees and a graduate assistant, addressing issues as needed.
Functional Area 3: Other Duties as Assigned
Serve on university and library committees.
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Will Need:
High school diploma or GED
Seven (7) years of related experience.
Additional education may be used as a substitution for the minimum experience requirement:
Associates degree and five (5) years of related experience
Bachelors degree and three (3) years of related experience.
Masters degree and one (1) year of related experience.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Ability to learn and perform complex, multi-step, computer-based processes and troubleshoot issues.
Ability to move medium weight boxes, books, heavy book truck, or similar items.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Supervisory experience.
