TheRole Tesla is seeking a Technical Program Manager on the Vehicle Assembly teamto be part of a world-class team of engineers that are responsible fordesigning and building the vehicle assembly equipment at the Tesla factories.As a Technical Program Manager, you are responsible for managing technicalprojects from "cradle to grave". This includes driving the design andimplementation of new manufacturing lines globally across various vehicleassembly shops for new or existing products. Program managers own driving thescope, schedule, implementation and cost of the entire program as well asadditional functions such as vendor relations, stakeholder management andreport outs to leaders.
Thekey objective of the Vehicle Assembly team is developing new and innovativesolutions in the factory and help Tesla achieve its ambitious manufacturinggoals. All these manufacturing processes will be initially planned, assembledand tested at our Tesla facilities in NA or other factories/facilities aroundthe world.
- Define new program goals and align on common strategy in accordance across the manufacturing organizations
- "Concept to completion" ownership of projects from project ideation, validation and production execution while work collaboratively with all engineering stakeholders (project engineering, industrial engineering, design, controls, software etc.) through the various stages of the project: Concept development, prototype testing, engineering design, system build, integration, and testing
- Drive vendor partnership working closely with supply chain and purchasing team and ensure alignment on engineering requirements, scope, schedule and cost
- Drive product requirements and manufacturing solutions with all internal stakeholders such as infrastructure, logistics, controls, software and manufacturing engineering teams for the success of the project
- Coordinate with internal operations during the install, commission, testing and integration phases of the project while seting goals, tracking deliverables, identifing risk and drive mitigations across all stages of the project
- Own execution and completion of multiple programs/projects, as needed while continuously develop and adapt processes and methodologies to the team's needs
- Own report-outs for all projects, highlighting status, risks, mitigations and opportunities across all levels of management/functions within Tesla while managing road-map of milestones working within the framework of the overall program
- Bachelor's Degree,or equivalent
- Experience intechnical program or project management, ideally with multiple deliveredprojects of medium ($1-25M ) to large sized capital equipment systems
- Experiencedeveloping processes and methodologies to suit specific engineering workflowsdesired
- Technicalunderstanding of manufacturing processes - low, medium and high volume
- Knowledge of JIRAand diverse continuous integration workflows is a plus
