The Television Academy, based in the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood, California, is a nonprofit organization devoted to celebrating and empowering storytellers to push the boundaries of what Television can be. Summary of Position
The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs general cleaning and minor maintenance duties in maintaining Academy buildings. Provide assistance to staff, visitors and other employees as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives oral or written orders from department Head.
- Performs work according to standards procedure and operational schedules.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms and office spaces including windows.
- Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
- Performs touch up and finish painting.
- Replaces light bulbs and fixtures.
- Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
- Opens and closes Academy buildings when necessary.
- Uses hand tools and power tools in making repairs or modifications to Academy buildings.
- Checks buildings at beginning and end of shift.
- Participates in building coverage by working evenings and weekends if required.
Minimum Requirements
- Equivalent to High School Graduation
- Minimum of 2 years related experience
- Ability and willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights and weekends
- Highly organized, flexible and must be able to meet changing deadlines
- Able to lift and move heavy objects (up to at least 30 pounds)
- California Driver License and good driving record required
- Must possess a cell phone
