This position is for a Product Manager for SEO. We are staffing a new fast track team to take on continuously emerging features and enhancements/fixes across our eCommerce websites. The focus will be on product pages but not exclusively, some may touch category pages, navigation, omni-channel features on the site, editorial content or checkout.
The focus will be on light weight, lower complexity customer facing features where we want to move fast. It will require good collaboration with brand partners, UX, rapid experimentation and engineering.
The ideal candidate is a PDM with solid product instincts, interested to work on a variety of smaller yet impactful ecommerce features and fixes in a fast moving and lean environment (e.g. multiple small, simple projects in rapid succession with consistently emerging ideas, product drives most of the process and planning, not multi month enterprise projects with heavy PMO support).
The delivery team will be staffed in Europe so given the time difference, someone in the east coast, Brooklyn or New Jersey office works best.
Product Management is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle, from inception to retirement, of IT products that are delivered to our customers; business associates and consumers. The job family manages the relationship between WS business functions and IT to provide IT product and user experience solutions to meet the needs of the business.
Specific Responsibilities
Responsibility for one or more major domains
Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide product and user experience solutions to meet the business needs
Develops high level business requirements and translates them into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
Possesses broad knowledge of technical design specifications and works with technology peers to help develop solutions
Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between the business and IT from initial requirements to final implementation
Possess and may share subject-matter expertise or in-depth technical knowledge, uses expertise to further development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
May provide tactical work direction to team members
Excellent knowledge of product management best practices, functional design and application delivery methodology
Customer focused with high quality standards, must possess strong presentation skills
Possesses solid knowledge of project management methodology
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, business communication and writing skills
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Exercises strong judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
Strong decision making capabilities will have an impact on the success of short-term group or division operational goals
Frequently interacts with customers, and/or functional peer group IC'S/managers, normally involving matters between functional areas or internal customers

This role would be a good position for someone earlier in their career, a generalist with some product experience in customer facing features for eCommerce (possibly smaller companies) and wanting to get broad experience in retail ecommerce at larger company and make an impact.
