TMB, Inc has an exciting opportunity for a Shipboard Systems Expert to support Team Ships Front Office (TSFO).

Responsibilities

  • The requirement is for a Senior Engineer [Sr. Systems Analyst] with proven ship systems and modernization expertise. The Senior Engineer [Sr. Systems Analyst] will provide dedicated, timely professional support services to the Flag Officer, Executive Director and Chief of Staff for the Director, Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization & Sustainment (SEA 21).
  • The contractor will lead or contribute to strategic initiatives to define and assess SEA 21 processes, data and metrics, and resources associated with improving and optimizing surface ship systems and modernization planning, execution, and oversight.
  • The scope includes developing and implementing strategic initiatives that focus on improved business practices as well as improved data utilization; work package definition, engineering, and planning; messaging and tasker responses; and program execution processes.
  • This individual shall possess strong analytic and strategic thinking skills as a basis for strategic planning and knowledge management.
  • The contractor will proactively and re-actively respond short and long-term tasking from SEA 21 Leadership, coordinating as necessary with stakeholders, to provide quality, on-time products to include communication strategies, briefs, point papers, and analysis.
  • The contractor will provide analytical support to include Flag level strategy planning, communication approaches, brief development, knowledge management, and process improvement.
  • The contractor will develop and deliver flag-level briefings and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent U.S. military service experience.
  • 15 years of direct experience in U.S Navy ship systems operations, training, maintenance, and modernization, including availability planning and execution, management, and assessment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively with senior military and civilian leadership (i.e.: Flag level and SES Level).
  • Proactive and excellent customer service with management experience.
  • Ability to travel and operate in shipyard industrial environments.
  • SharePoint Knowledge Management Experience a plus.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must possess an active DOD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize rapidly changing tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in teams.
  • Ability to work productively remotely.
  • Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
