Team Georgia Careers is Hiring a Program Coordinator Near Atlanta, GA

The Program Coordinator works within the Office of Strategic Programs which administers programs for SRTA/GRTA/ATL spanning all the authorities’ mobility practices—roadway, tolling, and transit—thereby providing prospective employees broad exposure to the transportation industry in Georgia. The Office of Strategic Programs (OSP) administers the following programs: two financial assistance programs, the GO! Transit grant program which provides $75M in transit capital grants statewide and the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB - https://srta.ga.gov/gtib/) which provides grants and loans for roadway-related projects throughout the state; the Xpress Capital Improvement Program (CIP) which prioritizes and programs capital investments for the Xpress commuter bus system; and SRTA’s two-time, national award-winning Commuter Credits program which provides financial incentives that change travel behavior to increase transit ridership and improve the reliability of Georgia’s Express Lane system.Together these programs provide experience in transportation finance and policy, project evaluation/prioritization, transit capital budgeting, transit finance, toll systems, and innovative mobility solutions to positively impact travel behavior.

 The Program Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Strategic Programs Administrator and provides: project management support including scheduling, managing team tasks, and maintaining project files; serves as a subject matter expert for each program including assisting program operations, documenting program outcomes, preparing summary materials, providing technical writing assistance, and interfacing with internal and external customers; and will assist in developing capital budgets including working with internal customers to prioritize capital investments for executive consideration.

Job Responsibilities

1.Provides support in operating the GTIB program and to the Strategic Programs Administrator during the project evaluation and post-program analysis phases.

a.Assists as needed with day-to-day operations including contract administration, responding to customer requests, and developing the GTIB Quarterly Status Report.

b.Develops program collateral before a call for projects, reviews, and evaluates projects for recommendations to authority executives, and prepares program collateral for award.

c.Manages applicant and awardee database, performs data analysis, and develops materials to summarize program outcomes and inform future strategic direction.

d.Assists in the development of the GTIB Annual Report.

e.Executes initiatives to improve the GTIB program including, but not limited to, peer infrastructure bank reviews, literature reviews, and improving program materials (e.g., webpage, annual report, etc.).

 

2.Provides project management and subject matter expert assistance in launching, operating, and evaluating SRTA’s two Commuter Credits programs, Ride Transit, and Shift Commute.

a.Manages Commuter Credits activities during the launch of each program including developing schedules, tracking team progress, and making recommendations to the Strategic Programs Administrator to ensure a successful launch.Assumes responsibility for select tasks as assigned.

b.Aids during program operations which may include site visits to ensure program compliance/success, outreach to participants, strategic analysis to address operating issues, maintaining databases, etc.

c.Assists in developing post-program documents regarding the process, responsibilities, outcomes, and lessons learned.Conducts technical writing and aids in developing summary program material.

d.Coordinates with internal and external customers.

3.Assists in developing the ATL Xpress system’s capital improvement plan (CIP) and utilizing the CIP process to prioritize investment, ensure appropriate funds are utilized, and track progress.

a.Obtains project needs from the Xpress Operations team for the duration of the CIP (e.g., five to ten years), works with the Operations team to prioritize projects, works with finance to determine available resources, and assists in presenting materials to executives for investment decisions.

b.Evaluates opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the CIP including but not limited to, peer reviews, identifying software solutions, and other items as directed by the Strategic Program Administrator.

 Technical Competencies

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) to three (3) years of work-related experience in one (1) or more of the following: business administration, public administration, urban planning, project management, program management, public policy, engineering, finance, transit, tolling, or transportation fields.Note: an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required competencies may also be considered.Must have strong administrative, and organizational, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize workload is required.Must also be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-focused environment.  Preferred Qualifications
