The Tazewell County Health Department currently has one full time position for a Program Assistant II, in Environmental Health open for applications of interest.

The position involves but is not limited to:

• Routine and general office support including entering and retrieving data in spreadsheets and databases with speed and accuracy.
• Customer service and client correspondence including collection of information, review and verification of eligibility for program services; maintain program files/client records with confidentiality
• Answering phones, transferring to appropriate staff, taking written messages, refer to appropriate area or Explain basic information on program policies and procedures
• Ensure required inventories per grant requirements are keptupto
• Receiveand process various applications, permits and forms
• Calculate and take fees, invoicing/receipting
• Managingand ordering office supplies and other Initiates and facilitates purchase order processes to meet the program needs within the budget parameters
• Operating of standard office equipment
• Public emergency response
• Coordinate and implement outreach efforts for the programs within the division to clients, providers and the community

Microsoft Excel experience preferred.

Specialized training such as experience using excel, publisher, word, access, Share-point and Power-Point computer software required. 1-3 years' experience preferred.

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours/week. Hours will vary between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Few evenings or weekends may be required

Salary Grade: 12

Rate of pay: $18.22/hr. hiring range
