What We’re Looking For…

Our CPA firm is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team. Our firm has offices in both Atlanta and Columbus Georgia, providing quality accounting, taxation, and consulting services, in addition to collaborating with wealth management organizations. We are looking for a team member who has great customer skills, is developing technically, is career oriented, and wants to be part of an amazing team. This individual must be detail-oriented, organized, possess the ability to effectively communicate, and be willing to help in other areas of the firm as needed.

Primary Responsibilities for Senior Accountant

• Review account analysis and reconciliations
• Perform, when necessary, account analysis and reconciliations
• Review, oversee, or perform general ledger month end, quarter end or year-end closing process
• Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
• Research accounting and tax matters in order to summarize results and propose resolutions
• Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
• Guide junior/staff accountants and other staff by answering questions and coordinating informational classes
• Develop and sustain strong client relationships

• Respond to client accounting inquires and tax authority notices
• Perform other accounting and tax duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Strong candidates for this position should be motivated, reliable and possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related major is required, CPA preferred
• Three to five years of recent experience in public accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures (Cash/Hybrid/GAAP) and tax laws
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex information
• Knowledge of the following software programs are preferred. QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word, CCH ProSystem FX or Axcess Tax
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and to analyze problems logically and comprehensively, distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner
• Strong inter-personal skills, including the capability to effectively present information and respond to client needs
