HOW WILL YOU MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN?

North Highland is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to help provide relevant, timely and accurate financial data to support the our Private Sector Client's Accounting Department’s key initiatives and deadlines.

YOU WILL:
  • Be responsible for providing relevant, timely and accurate financial data to support the Accounting Department’s key initiatives and deadlines. This position is focused on preparation, research, analysis, and reconciliation of financial statement accounts while proactively resolving issues to achieve an efficient and accurate month end close.

    The Senior Accountant shall perform the following essential duties:

  • Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more efficient and accurate processes
  • Own month-end close fluctuation analytics, reconciliations, consolidations and posting entries for different entities
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems
  • Seek and embrace opportunities which give exposure to different situations, environments and perspectives
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Accounting function including people, process, and technologies to assist in documenting procedures and data/process flows
  • Ensure that all financial information is recorded in accordance with GAAP, federal and state laws and is consistent with Company’s established policies and procedures with an understanding of when to escalate
  • Research any unusual variances in activity or balances
  • Assist in the preparation of support for year-end audit as needed
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and financial reports as requested
IDEALLY, WE’D LIKE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3 years professional experience in a directly applicable field with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems
  • Detailed oriented and able to set priorities
  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Considerable knowledge of GAAP, accounting practices and procedures
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Licensed CPA or on the path to become a CPA
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Workday experience is a plus
