GHJ Search & Staffing has partnered with a manufacturing company in Atlanta to help identify a Senior Accountant. This person will report to and interact directly with the Assistant Controller as well as other finance leadership, will have a strong knowledge of accounting practices/procedures and will perform accounting functions relating to month-end close, assist with annual financial reporting preparation and monthly internal reporting, record journal entries and consolidation entries, prepare account reconciliations, record member receivables and research and explain period over period variances.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, and monthly and quarterly internal reports
Prepare journal entries to support month-end close process
Assist in maintaining the general ledger and all accounting transactions
Reconcile assigned accounts and investigate variances
Analyze data to provide insight on company performance and present results to executives/department leaders
Assist in identifying improvements/efficiencies relating to internal controls and the accounting processes
Research year to year account fluctuations and communicate results
Provide assistance during the annual audit by gathering requested documentation
Record member-related receivables and commissions receivable
Perform other tasks, as needed, within the department
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
4 years accounting experience
Strong communication and time management skills
Proficient in Excel
