Reports To: CEO

Essential Functions:

  • Recruit, interview and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Manage benefit administration 
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and orientations.
  • Manage temporary labor policies and procedures.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits and leave.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications, as appropriate.
  • Supports evaluating, testing, and implementing of various HR software and automation processes
  • Updates HR standard operating procedures (SOP) and checklists.
  • Develop and oversee employee programs, rewards, health and wellness, and company events.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, termination and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Create a positive work environment valuing employees, promoting teamwork, hiring, training and evaluating performance.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking
  • May be required to lift 10 pounds
  • Requires significant use of computer, phone, and general office equipment.
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • BA degree required; PHR highly desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR
  • Thorough knowledge of state and national employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational, analytical and research skills.
  • Comfortable working at a fast pace.
  • Perform mathematical computations and financial calculations.
  • MS Office and internet skills.
