By increasing participation in state public assistance programs and helping people get the support services they are eligible for! This position will be based out of Denton, Texas and serve Denton, Cooke and Wise counties.

This is what you’ll do!

• You will drive a R.E.D. mobile office and food truck throughout your assigned service area. This involves loading and unloading equipment and food resources.
• You’ll provide comprehensive, multi-lingual application assistance to help eligible individuals enroll in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other public assistance benefits such as CHIP, WIC, TANF, and more.
• You’ll educate applicants on how to successfully submit process-ready applications and supporting documents through YourTexasBenefits.com and mobile ap.
• You will collect the necessary data to document compliance with HHSC policies and processes and fulfill contractual requirements and deliverables. Attention to detail is key!
• You’ll facilitate neighbor referrals to other community support and respond to referrals received from other social service organizations.
• You’ll drive enrollment in SNAP and generate innovative ideas to raise awareness of services that support people in our community.

What you’ll need to succeed!

• Associate degree and three years’ experience in social services program coordination or equivalent experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English? Muy útil!
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• You must keep confidential data secure following state and federal regulations.
• You’ll need to be able to work with diverse populations and have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

A Day in the life:

• You will spend most of your day traveling to visit with people at communication organizations to help them enroll in benefits.
• You will experience frequent travel in your assigned territory within our 13-county service area. You must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation. We provide mileage reimbursement if you use your personal vehicle, but most of the time, you will be driving a fleet vehicle (aka R.E.D.).
• You will find yourself frequently driving, standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
• You’ll need work schedule flexibility with occasional weekend and evening availability.
