Job Summary:

Our Finance Department is searching for a Senior Accountant to enhance our team. In this role, you will collaborate with all levels of Company management to appropriately process day-to-day financial accounting transactions and assist with internal and external financial reporting processes. This is a hands-on position and the ability to multitask and work with others is essential. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this individual will be a critical member of the accounting and finance team, helping to scale the finance function as the company continues to grow.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly/quarterly close activities, including preparing and reviewing various balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations, and performance and documentation of internal controls
• Prepare and review journal entries for multiple general ledger accounts
• Collaborate with various program leads, department heads, and external vendors to book and reconcile accrual accounts
• Perform analytical reviews related to various general ledger accounts, departments, and programs
• Assist with quarterly review and annual financial statement audit preparation, helping to ensure that high-quality financial information and documentation is created
• Assist with financial reporting process (SEC filings of 10-Q/10-K, etc.)
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, as needed
• Participate in process improvement activities including enhancing current financial processes and leveraging technology to increase effectiveness
• Conduct technical accounting research and assist with ad hoc projects as they arise
• Maintain effective relationships with other departments to ensure effective and efficient cross-functional collaboration and excellent customer service

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years progressive accounting experience, preferably within the life sciences industry and/or a Big 4 Accounting firm
• Must possess a strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) is required
• Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite is preferred
• Must be able to manage workload and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines while exhibiting strong attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment is important
