Alembic is Hiring a Technical Project Manager Near San Francisco, CA

About Us
Alembic applies cutting-edge algorithms and composite AI solutions to provide a new approach for marketing data analytics. Unlike tools that only provide correlation, only Alembic provides true causation, giving organizations across sector and industry the ability to quantify the value of every marketing activity and maximize future marketing investments. We're backed by leading tech luminaries and innovators including WndrCo, founded by DreamWorks founder Jeffrey Katzenberg, Jensen Huang, Joe Montana, and many more.
About the Role - Technical Project Manager
We're growing our product team. As a Technical Project Manager at Alembic, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the efficient and successful execution of our product development lifecycle. You'll leverage your strong technical background, project management expertise, and passion for building high-quality software to manage our product development process, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet our exacting standards. You'll report to our VP Product, Jayden Ziegler, and collaborate with the whole team. We work a hybrid schedule, onsite at our San Francisco office three days a week.
What you'll do:
  • Manage the product development process:
    • Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation in collaboration with engineering teams.
    • Translate designs into detailed technical specifications and work with engineers to estimate development effort.
    • Create and maintain project plans.
  • Execute and track development:
    • Build out project tasks in a ticketing system for real-time tracking and progress visibility.
    • Plan and manage product development timelines, report on project status, and identify potential roadblocks.
    • Actively participate in "getting in the weeds" with engineering teams during development, providing guidance and support..
  • Serve as scrum master and quality assurance champion:
    • Facilitate clear communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.
    • Own the project task board and act as the Scrum Master, working closely with the QA team to ensure a smooth development workflow.
    • Be an advocate for exceptional quality assurance (QA) practices, actively seeking opportunities to improve the product development process and identify potential issues before they arise.
  • Drive team efficiency and growth:
    • Continuously assess and implement ways to streamline and optimize the product development process for increased efficiency.
Qualifications that will help you succeed:
  • 5 years of experience in a technical program management or software development role. Bonus points for a technical background or prior experience working on highly technical products.
  • Proven ability to manage product development processes effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and clear writing.
  • Strong understanding of project management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and ticketing systems.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and a passion for building high-quality software.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, QA).
  • Self-starter with a strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload, and independently find solutions.
Why you might be excited about Alembic:
  • You want to build something that is both technologically challenging and solves a real customer need. You want a role with major upside that tackles a massive market opportunity.
  • You are a serial startup builder or want to earn growth stage experience before becoming a founder yourself. We have assembled a super team of leaders who have deep experience building and selling B2B marketing solutions that work.
  • You want to work where you can take a big swing at building something big while maximizing your personal growth.
Why you might not be excited:
  • If you only want to tell people instead of building and coding alongside them - and on your own - then we're not the environment for you.
  • You prefer company practices with 100% built out process for every little detail.
  • You prefer static over dynamic. Projects, priorities, and roles will adapt to your skill set and your goals. Though we have real paying customers, and a playbook for growth, we proudly remain an early stage startup.
At Alembic diversity, equity, and inclusion are the core of who we are.
Our commitment to these values is unwavering, across all of our work around the world. They are central to our mission and to our impact. We know that having varied perspectives helps generate better ideas to solve the complex problems of a changing and increasingly diverse world. Further, Alembic believes that diversity and inclusion are an advantage to our business and our team. This commitment informs all our decisions, solutions, and customer interactions.
We'd love to share more with you. If you want to learn more about Alembic or this role, please let us know of your interest on this page. Thank you.
