- Preparation and review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations including but not limited to accruals, ARO costs, depletion calculations, etc.
- Preparation and review of quarterly and annual external financial statements/footnotes and all internal financial statements, lease operating statements, and ad-hoc reporting
- Develop processes and procedures
- Conduct variance analysis from budget/expectation in close coordination with operational departments
- Partner with the CFO on special projects, complex accounting research and acquisitions including onboarding assets and purchase price accounting
- Lead in the development, implementation and maintenance of accounting and reporting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC and Sarbanes-Oxley
- Coordinate and lead external audit process
- 7 years of experience with a combination of public accounting and upstream oil & gas accounting experience or public accounting with E&P clients highly preferred
- Experience with transactions such as upstream acquisitions is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required and CPA highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Excel skills and ability to learn new systems
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment of a small, high-growth company (multi-tasking and wearing many hats)
