Controller for Real Estate and Retail Service Industry (Franchise Group)
Term: Full-time
Direct Report: President & SVP Operations
Location: Atlanta, GA
The Controller position will be responsible for the managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department for a retail oil change operation with locations throughout the southeast United States. The responsibilities include but not limited to collecting, monitoring, analyzing, and verifying accounting and HR data and produce financial reports or statements, establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles. The Controller should have strong communication skills in working directly with the operations team.
Responsibilities:
· Planning, implementing and supervising the company’s financial strategy
· Month and year end accounting process – monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements
· Accounts payable/receivable, Check runs
· Fixed assets and debt activity
· Cash receipts and daily accounting reconciliations.
· General Ledger, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet for all operating entities and real estate owned assets
· HR and Payroll
· Treasury, budgeting, cash flow forecasting
· Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
· Monthly bank reconciliations. Capital Asset reconciliation, trust account reconciliations
· Coordinate and complete annual audits
· Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
· Assist with all annual tax return filing
· Making recommendations to business stakeholders
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance
· Minimum 5 years in accounting as Accounting Manager or Finance Manager
· Franchise and retail accounting experience
· Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations
· Advanced computer skills on MS Office, Quickbooks Online and other accounting software and databases
· Ability to maintain and manipulate large amounts of data
· Annual expense tracking and management (ie property tax, business license etc)
· Superior data management and data analysis skills
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to communicate with management, peers and subordinates to resolve issues and improve processes
· Worker’s compensation management/liason
· Health Insurance plan management
· Strong interpersonal, verbal communication skills and problem solving
· Real Estate finance experience preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
