JOB DESCRIPTION

The Controller at Astral Health & Beauty plays a critical role in overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position will be responsible for ensuring seamless coordination, accuracy, and adherence to financial best practices while providing strategic guidance and decision support to the organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Oversight & Collaboration:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Oversee day-to-day outsourced financial functions; closely monitor and manage external resources.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
• Review and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company objectives.
• Collaborate closely with the outsourced team and internal team to streamline processes, implement best practices, and drive efficiencies.

Strategic Financial Guidance:

• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making processes and long-term planning.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business goals.
• Assess and communicate financial risks and opportunities, contributing to the development of growth strategies.
• Contribute to business initiatives, investment opportunities, and cost-saving strategies to optimize profitability. 

Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax filings, and financial reporting standards.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, reports, and filings.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and filings.
• Using comprehensive financial reports and analysis, identify trends, risks, and opportunities for executive leadership.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

• Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes and controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide guidance for professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or CMA preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller, preferably within the beauty, cosmetics, or consumer goods industry.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
• Strong proficiency in financial software and the Sage X3 ERP system; advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
