Administrative Assistant

Base Rate: $20.00/hr.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Administrative Assistant assists with completing the MDS assessment instrument, which includes ensuring that all comprehensive care plans have the application of CAAs for each resident/patient, establishing an MDS completion calendar while adhering to federal/state timeframes, coordinating interdisciplinary care services and performing audits. 

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Verify all ADT events
• Track admissions/discharges and organize/circulate paperwork according to established procedures including, but not limited to:
  • Receiving/forwarding hospital screens
  • Medicare determination forms & ICD9 coding
  • Gather information to fax to insurance providers as indicated
  • Set up packets & folders for HMO admissions
  • Process Medicare exhaust and discharge letters
  • Bi-weekly update reports to insurance providers as indicated
•  Requests specific medical information on a Resident as needed from other facilities, MD's, hospitals, etc. according to established procedures
• Maintains MDS Calendar
• Layer MDA/ADL CareTouch care path prior to 90 day review. D/C CareTouch following MDS completion.
• Maintains Resident rights, and Corporate Compliance standards
• Maintains HIPAA privacy, security, and confidentiality standards
• Follows all established policies and procedures
• Represents the organization professionally
• Interacts positively with Residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under a variety of conditions and circumstances

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in Medical Records and computer applications desirable
• Must have attention to detail and stellar organizational skills
• Able to communicate effectively while working in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of property
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise and experience required for the task
• Demonstrated ability in management, leadership and interpersonal skills
