As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patient to the exam room, obtain history, document in EMR, take patient’s vital signs (weight, pulse, temperature, blood pressure)
• Ensure that all orders are in the patient's chart based on the provider's request
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Performs a variety of front office duties as needed, including, but not limited to, reception, greeting patients, verification of information needed for billing and medical charting, telephone, chart maintenance, insurance forms, and scheduling
• Update and pull medical records
• Assist during medical examinations and special procedures
• Produce and distribute correspondence letters, faxes, and forms
• Maintain open communication with patients regarding their health
• Assist the provider in managing a patient panel size of 750 (and growing)
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
• Coordinate with medical and nursing students that are assigned to the provider
• Performs other duties requested by the manager or provider in a fast-paced environment

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant (1 year preferred)
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficiency in EMR software - Athena (preferred)
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
• Bilingual (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
