synchrony is Hiring an AVP, Technical Product Owner Near Stamford, CT

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As a Digital Product Manager, you will be responsible for planning and implementing enhancements and new capabilities for Control Center, a Synchrony-developed CMS and Automation Platform, used by SyPI and other enterprise teams to manage in-app content, marketing campaigns and release management.

The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of success in product management and an Agile background working with cross functional teams; specifically technology, marketing, operations, and external stakeholders. This individual will collaborate with clients, IT and other strategic partners and have direct responsibility for driving strategy, owning requirements, writing user stories and managing sprints across multiple Agile development teams.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and leadership of the wing-to-wing product development cycle including strategy, build, test, launch, and performance metrics

  • Partner with various teams across the enterprise to identify and solve business and technology pain points and collaborate on building solutions

  • Merchandise Control Center success; identify and drive new integrations with stakeholders across the Synchrony application ecosystem

  • Strong command of Agile development methodologies – define story acceptance criteria, manage and prioritize the team backlog, collaborate with the Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, System Architects, developers and other subject matter experts and contribute to the overall team vision

  • Lead teams through feature ideation, requirements gathering, technical development, stakeholder socialization and feature launch.

  • Collaborate with system architect/engineering leads to plan and understand Enablers

  • Participate in product demos and Inspect and Adapt activities

  • Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for releases

  • Work with UX/UI team to create screen prototypes/wireframes, gather feedback and adjust to optimize performance

  • Partner with internal and external groups to gather market intelligence and user VOC and translate the results into detailed product requirements

  • Collaborate with the Digital Analytics team to develop KPIs, monitor performance, analyze user behavior and optimize usage patterns

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or in lieu of a degree, high school diploma and 8 years of technology experience

  • 5 years of digital technology experience, preferably in credit card or financial services (can be concurrent with the requirement above)

  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results

  • Strong project and/or product management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions

  • Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities

  • Experience working with Agile teams including writing stories and managing Sprints

  • Deep understanding of mobile apps and devices, eCommerce, and the fintech landscape

  • Experience working in and navigating a highly regulated business

  • Ability to translate complex objectives into smaller, easier to deliver features and enhancements

  • Skilled in effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, establishing consensus around priorities and translating that to product execution.

  • Ability to travel as needed

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 75,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
