Supernal is Hiring a Lead Program Manager, Business Operations Near Irvine, CA

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. What we do:

The Lead Program Manager of Business Operations is responsible for the management of business projects with multi-functional teams as well as projects within functions. This position requires a professional with expertise in delivering the highest quality services and business products on schedule, within budget. The position works alongside Supernal Team Heads, fellow Program Managers, Finance, HR, IT, and other business functions to support the operations of the business, and therefore, the development of our products.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What you can do:

  • Work closely with business functions like Finance (FP&A, Accounting), Supply Chain & Procurement, Program Management, Engineering, Human Resources, Corporate IT (including Data), Legal, Compliance, and Facilities
  • Help coordinate separate threads across business functions and drive actions to closure with a focus on agile execution to deliver on Supernal objectives and key results
  • Work closely with Finance and Heads for reporting monthly, quarterly, and yearly non-labor and labor actuals. Help create executive reports based on earned value management
  • Responsible for coordinating the budget and workforce process and tooling, especially weekly ceremonies and inspiring changes to closure
  • Design and monitor business performance dashboards, tracking key metrics related to efficiency, productivity, and quality to identify areas for improvement
  • Continually evaluate and enhance operational processes, identifying bottlenecks, streamlining workflows, and implementing industry standard methodologies for efficiency
  • Support financial planning, reporting, and budgeting activities, effectively allocating resources, handling costs, and ensuring financial sustainability (e.g., SAP Systems Integration)
  • Identify and assess risks associated with operational activities, developing strategies to mitigate these risks, including the identification of potential challenges and the implementation of contingency plans (e.g., Budget Review Committee, BCR Process)
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the scope, budget, schedule, and business development activities to all collaborators
  • Monitor internal business program schedule commitments and direct appropriate personnel of possible impacts(s) or change(s) which includes arranging, attending and chairing reviews, coordination meetings and design meetings as required
  • Own execution and completion of multiple projects in parallel
  • Identify resource requirements and highlight gaps across different stages for all projects
  • Set goals, track work, identify risk and drive mitigation across all stages of the project
  • Own report-outs for all projects, highlighting status, risks, mitigation, and opportunities across all levels of management
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders on all phases of the project: Requirements & concept development, system integration & design, production, testing, qualification, & transition to production-environments for business functionality
  • May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or similar discipline is required. Master’s Degree is preferred
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a business operations role
  • Experience in FP&A, Accounting, or HR
  • Demonstrated experience with tools like SAP, Microsoft tool suite, and Power BI
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Experience with electric propulsion air or ground vehicles preferred
