What we do: 

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for manufacturing tooling, verification and validation, and process development. The role will be accountable for creating a multitude of standardized processes and procedures within these subject areas while collaborating with the design teams throughout the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs. The role will be heavily involved in building prototype energy storage systems and supporting the development and transitioning of manufacturing technologies.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What you can do:

• Design and manufacture fixtures and tooling for new processes
• Conduct supplier visits as needed to complete Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs)
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
• Support implementation of Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) to support production
• Provide technical training and support to production personnel on new processes, equipment, and technologies
• Drive continuous improvement within production to reduce assembly, inspection, and testing time.
• Apply DOE, PFMEA, and other industry-standard tools and techniques to actively identify and address risks and optimize process parameters
• Design, develop, and implement safety equipment for use with high-voltage products
• Conduct deep dives on equipment failures, quality issues, and optimizations
• Evaluate designs using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles and develop testing methods to assess quality and functionality
• Collaborate with all engineering teams to develop product requirements, inspection plans, and end-of-line procedures
• Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
• Up to 25% of domestic and international travel
• Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Experience with project management and prototyping
• Experience designing and manufacturing fixtures and tooling
• Proficiency in writing and performing FATs and SATs
• Knowledge of MES systems
• Knowledge of DOE, PFMEA, and other industry-standard tools and techniques
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles
• Ability to develop testing methods to assess quality and functionality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
• Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite

You may also be able to contribute:

• LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications preferred
• Experience in aircraft or automotive production environments preferred
• Experience in aviation, automotive, and the mobility space with UAS or UAM preferred
