Sunrise ShopRite of Parsippany is currently seeking a Customer Service Manager to oversee our Front-End operations, Guest Services (including Bookkeeping) department and our Online Shopping department. This is a Full Time, salaried position.

Supervised by: Store Manager

Job Summary : The Customer Service Manager is responsible to oversee all functions of the Front End, Bookkeeping, Guest Services and the Online Shopping department. The Customer Service Manager acts as a role model for being the best customer advocate with the goal of creating an excellent customer experience. It will be necessary to always promote Associate Engagement by living the Sunrise ShopRite Purpose and Values and offers training and development opportunities as well as empowerment activities to Associates. The Customer Service Manager ensures compliance with all company and governmental safety and sanitation standards, as well as State and Federal labor laws.

Essential Job Functions: The essential job functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to perform math skills.
  • Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and occasionally lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
  • Meet all work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.

Job Responsibilities: The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by promoting and maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
  • Oversee Front End, Guest Services and Online Shopping Department Operations to ensure adherence to all company standards and procedures.
  • Communicate, observe and enforce all store rules and company policies to Department Managers and Associates.
  • Ensures that all Department Associates comply with safety and sanitation policies and procedures; encourage safety suggestions and participation in the store’s Safety Committee meetings.
  • Oversee the scheduling, payroll, productivity, training, and shrink control in all areas of responsibility.
  • Reviews the weekly sales projection and hours with the Store Manager.
  • Reinforce and monitor departmental training and empowerment activities.
  • Review Associates’ performance appraisals and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Be fair and consistent in enforcing department procedures, company rules and policies and disciplining.
  • Participates in hiring, orientation of new Associates
  • Follows progressive discipline process
  • Submit required reports and surveys on schedule or in a timely manner.
  • Respond to Customer and Associate accidents or emergencies calmly, and attend to the required paperwork in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Researches all loss prevention issues regarding voids, refunds, coupons, incomplete mobile scan orders, Pay Pal discrepancies, and Price Plus Cards.
  • Assists with cash balancing and stand beside discrepancies.
  • Assists Office with issues regarding bad checks and charge backs.
  • Periodically inspects all in-store hardware, including front end and courtesy equipment, wireless credit card machines and hand scanners to ensure they are in working order.
  • Inspects customer kiosks to ensure proper working order.
  • Resolves Price Plus and digital coupon issues.
  • Manages stand beside credit card receipts, sorting by day and department.
  • Researches and if necessary re-issues ShopRite gift cards.
  • Researches orders for charge backs, lost organizational cards and questionable receipts.
  • Ensures that the monthly POS backup is done.
  • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy, department standards and state and local health regulations on a regular ongoing basis.
