JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Orthodontist Assistant II to work with our Orthodontist and ensure our patients are receiving their best quality care. The following are some of the essential functions you would be responsible for:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure quality of care by preparing treatment area for patient; cleans, sterilizes and sets up treatment area, and pulls patient’s chart.
  • Prepare patient for treatment by reviewing medical chart, greeting, seating, draping, taking blood pressure, as necessary, and providing information.
  • Assure efficiency of Orthodontist by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for Orthodontist access; suctioning and passing instruments.
  • Assure readiness of materials by selecting, mixing basses/impression materials, and placing materials for use.
  • Take and develop patient’s x-rays, as requested by Orthodontist and per regulatory and department protocol and procedures.
  • Mount and file dental x-rays per department procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidence by counseling patient on dental health, requesting consent for extractions/treatment, giving post-op instructions, and scheduling follow-up appointment.
  • Protect patients and co-workers by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and monitors equipment for department operations, assuring that autoclave is monitored by using spore testing.
  • Assure adequate stock is on hand by inventorying and ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Ensure operation of dental equipment by following procedures for maintenance, evaluation and usage.
  • Maintain x-ray equipment and ensure operation by following procedures for maintenance, evaluation and usage
  • Assure treatment areas are adequately stocked and ready for use.

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Orthodontia experience required.
  • X-Ray and Coronol Polishing certification required or obtained with in 60 days of hire date

COMPENSATION

Salary: $17.50 - $21.75

***Compensation is dependent on the relevant year and months of experience***
