**Job Description:**

We are currently seeking friendly and customer-oriented individuals to join our team as Servers. As a Server at Sumo Japanese Steakhouse, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent service to our guests, guiding them through their dining experience and ensuring their satisfaction.

**Responsibilities:**

- **Greeting Guests:** Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, escorting them to their tables, and providing menus.

- **Taking Orders:** Assist guests in selecting menu items, taking orders accurately, and answering any questions they may have about the menu.

- **Serving Food and Beverages:** Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately, ensuring orders are correct and complete.

- **Check Back:** Check back with guests to ensure their satisfaction with their meals and address any concerns or requests they may have.

- **Upselling:** Promote special menu items, beverages, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.

- **Handling Payments:** Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, including handling cash and processing credit card transactions.

- **Maintaining Cleanliness:** Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, including clearing tables, wiping down surfaces, and resetting tables for the next guests.

- **Teamwork:** Collaborate with other front-of-house staff, including hosts, bussers, and other servers, to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.

**Requirements:**

- **Customer Service Skills:** Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.

- **Attention to Detail:** Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately take and input orders.

- **Communication Skills:** Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.

- **Team Player:** A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- **Flexibility:** Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as the ability to adapt to changing business needs.

- **Experience:** Previous experience as a server in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Pay: $17.85 - $21.49 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
