About Our Career Opportunity

Summit Medical Group has an opening for a Director of Human Resources. This position leads and directs the human resources function of our healthcare network. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including but not limited to talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding employment practices. Works closely with the HR leadership team to support and implement effective human resource strategies that align with the company's vision, culture, and strategic objectives. This is a full time hybrid position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Partners CHRO to support the HR project management cycle of multiple initiatives simultaneously. Leads certain projects independently.
  • Drive operational excellence by evaluating, rethinking, and redesigning processes for candidate experience, interview management, competency alignment, process improvement, and simplification/automation.
  • Advises members of management and administration on personnel issues including terminations, disciplinary actions, morale, etc.
  • Uses HRIS information software to gather, analyze, and present data. Identifies trends and acts strategically. Recommends changes to policies when appropriate to maximize operations, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Prepares and presents meaningful reports to Committees and at the Board level, as appropriate.
  • Participates in professional development activities (i.e. continuing education, professional associations) to keep current with HR trends and practices.
  • Lead the full lifecycle recruiting of clinical and non-clinical professionals overseeing the recruitment and selection processes to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
  • Monitor and report on recruiting effectiveness via key performance indicators.
  • Oversees departmental budgets.
  • Oversees and manages a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven experience working in a leadership role, preferably in the healthcare space supporting multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and executing strategic HR plans that align with business goals.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases (previous experience with UltiPro, Kronos, iCims, and/or Position Manager preferred).
  • Ability to travel locally to the sites and for continuing education.
  • Excellent overall communication, organizational skills, and business acumen.
  • Extensive knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations related to employment.
  • The ability to advise and collaborate with company executives.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to provide planning, coordination, and direction to staff and the ability to propose innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Outcome driven; can thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapid change while effectively managing pressure in a professional manner.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other electronic systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Master’s or advanced degree is a plus.
  • SPHR or other related certifications are preferred.
