Position Summary:
The Cleaning Specialist / Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the general appearance of the community.
The candidate will be attentive to detail, task-oriented and customer service driven. The candidate will also be a team player, working with the maintenance staff and striving to advance the goals of premiership in maintenance toward resident retention and high levels of occupancy and tenant satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Cleans the property leasing office, restrooms, pool decks, fitness center, laundry rooms, model apartments and property common areas on a defined schedule
2. Cleans vacant apartment units in preparation for showing and occupancy
3. Assists maintenance staff with curb appeal cleaning
4. Reports any maintenance problems to the supervisor
5. Assists with inventory control specific to cleaning materials
6. Performs job duties using safety guidelines and reports obstacles to do so
7. Performs all tasks in a neat and efficient manner

Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Cleaning experience in either apartment, commercial, or hotel industry
Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job duties
Ability to operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
Ability to perform physical labor
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal in English
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good human relations skills and ability to work well with others
Experience:
At least one year of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Equipment Used:
Manual and power cleaning tools and equipment common in cleaning and housekeeping including, but not limited to: vacuums, mops, brooms, cleaning brushes, etc.

Physical demands for this position include:
· Standing, walking, climbing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
· Moderate balancing, crawling, pushing, lifting, feeling, and talking.
· Frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling.
· Sustains substantially recurring movement to fingers, hands, wrists, legs, and feet
· Pronounced visual acuity (near and far) and field of vision
· Ability to identify and distinguish color.
· Ability to use standard cleaning equipment.
· Ability to lift and/or move an excess of 30 pounds or more.
Working Conditions for this position can include:
· Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions (temperatures may vary depending on the weather in the different regions).
· Exposure to noise, vibrations, atmospheric conditions, as well as working in confined or restricted spaces.
· Potential exposure to cleaning chemicals.
