Summit Management Services, Inc. (SMSI), a national property management firm, is in search of an experienced Property Manager to manage a project-based, federally-subsidized apartment complex for the elderly and/or disabled in Warren, OH. The pay range for this opportunity is $45k - $50k commensurate with experience.
Successful candidates will have a consistent track record of high occupancy and HUD REAC scores at the properties they have managed. Working knowledge of Section 8 programming and possessing a Certified Occupancy Specialist status are crucial to this position. If the successful candidate does not have “COS” certification, they must obtain it within their first year of employment.
The Property Manager will be responsible for maintaining resident files and information in a confidential manner, communicating clearly and consistently with residents, staff and co-workers, taking applications for housing, calculating and collecting rental payments, overseeing housekeeping inspections, serving legal notices to residents, appearing in court on behalf of the properties, scheduling and supervising maintenance staff, organizing and coordinating resident activities and performing other duties as the function may require.
Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a working knowledge of Fair Housing and civil rights laws pertaining to housing. Proficiency with computers and software programs (such as Microsoft Office programs) is required. Knowledge of Yardi (Voyager) software will be a distinct plus.
Candidates should have a clear criminal background history and be able to pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening as a condition of employment. They must also possess a valid and clear Driver's License and have a reliable form of daily transportation.
