Human Resources Intern

If you’re ready to kickstart your career in Human Resources and build real-world HR experience in recruiting, employee development, Learning Management Systems (LMS), wellness, and HRIS, this is the internship for you!

The Human Resources Intern will partner with the Human Resources Management team on a wide range of HR projects and assist employees and managers. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he has acquired in college and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources can play and be better prepared to work in the human resources field.

Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to contribute to day to day tasks. This position will expose you to many aspects of HR and allow you to gain working experience by:

  • Performing steps in the recruiting and hiring process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting telephone interviews, and partnering with hiring managers
  • Researching, developing, and presenting recommendations to increase awareness and further promote our wellness and rewards and recognition programs.
  • Gaining knowledge of our online performance management system (e-Appraisal). Review and update performance appraisal forms to ensure weighting and core competencies are in alignment with our performance management objectives.
  • Gaining exposure to our LMS. Research develop and present recommendations for e-learning courses that promote employee development.
  • Generating HRIS management reports such as open jobs report, headcount, and exit interview dashboards.
  • Other HR projects and assignments as needed.
  • This is a paid internship for 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or recent graduate with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources. GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment
  • Some experience in an office environment preferred
  • Student Member of SHRM a plus 
  • Reliable transportation
