Expected Hours: Night and Weekend Café and Event Leads: 15-30 hours per week;

Qualifications:

  • High School or GED; some college preferred; Previous restaurant, hotel, and/or event experience required.
  • Typically work indoors, but occasionally work outdoors.
  • Night And Weekend Cafe and Event Lead must work nights, weekends, and all staff must work occasional holidays when restaurants and event centers are busiest.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have SIPS and TIPS and food handler's permit.
  • Ensure company and staff compliance with state and local liquor laws per company liquor licenses.
  • Must be able to perform various tasks including serving, bartending, hosting, cooking, washing dishes, cashiering, taking and delivering orders, inventory management, organizing, answering phones, greeting customers, providing information, selling, upselling, preparing food, snacks and drinks, stocking, setting up and breaking down tables and chairs and decor, cleaning, changing garbage, refreshing bathrooms, accepting and securing packages and luggage, checking patrons into play area, watering flower pots (seasonal), attending staff meetings, completing procedural checklists and bussing.
  • Continuing knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities and monthly meetings.
  • Must have dependable transportation.

Current Job Postings: Night and Weekend Café and Event Shift Lead Essential Duties (include, but not limited to the following):

  • Lead and assist in daily operations during manager absence and/or alongside manager.
  • Follow and submit operational procedures and checklists.
  • Manage inventory and enforce company policies.
  • Collaborate on menu creation, handle customer issues, and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Prepare a variety of dishes quickly and efficiently, adhering to specified recipes and quality standards.
  • Execute short order cooking techniques, such as grilling, mixing, baking, with precision and attention to detail
  • Coordinate with other staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of customer orders.
  • Communicate effectively with staff to manage order flow and timing.
  • Monitor food temperatures, cooking times, and overall quality to meet food safety standards.
  • Ensure that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented attractively
  • Report any issues or discrepancies to the manager or owner promptly.
  • Collaborate with staff and address customer preferences and special requests.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by consistently delivering high-quality, well-cooked dishes.
  • Ability to handle knives and other kitchen equipment safely
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and portions accurately
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient meal preparation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Fill in where needed throughout the restaurant, event, and F&B areas. Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the restaurant computer, tablets, phone, and POS system.
  • Learn and know all menu items, ingredients, preparation, presentation, prices, and specifications.
  • Lead, assist, and uphold service standards and staff training.
  • Coordinate event execution including set up, breakdown, F&B, A/V, décor, staging, BEO's, coordinating with vendors, renters, and staff.
  • Ensure high-quality service, cleanliness, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulations.
  • Handle emergencies and resolve customer issues.
  • Shift leads must act as quality control, ensuring customer satisfaction through training employees properly and adhering to company policy.
  • Prepare beverages (coffees, alcohol, non-alcoholic drinks) per menu, know all menu items and prepare them to customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with liquor laws and applicable licenses.
  • Maintain hygiene standards.
  • Fill in where needed throughout the restaurant, event, and F&B areas. Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Open close and count till
  • Pick up extra shifts and hours as required
  • Assist other departments as needed

Requirements:

  • Ensures that the facility and equipment are secure at the end of the day when required. Opens and closes as assigned.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.
  • Event and Cafe Leads must be able to work the majority of weekend night shifts and occasional weekend day shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sundays) per month 15-30 hours per week.

Appearance/Uniform: Complies with all company standards related to appearance and uniform standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk on hard, uneven, and slippery surfaces.
  • Stand constantly and move on feet quickly for extended periods of time.
  • Kneel, bend, stoop, and squat repetitively.
  • Twist and turn frequently.
  • Reach down, forward, and overhead frequently.
  • Work in hot areas of the kitchen and cold areas.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to properly handle and carry a large, heavy tray of food items, supplies, and/or dishes.
  • Must be able to lift and stack chairs and tables.
  • Must be able to sweep, mop, do dishes and do general cleaning duties
  • Must be able to dispose of garbage bags in designated bins
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
