STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES is seeking an entry-level engineer to join our Strengthening Division located at our Columbia, Maryland headquarters office. If you are seeking a rewarding opportunity with a dynamic, diversified, and innovative company, this role may be for you.
Our Strengthening Division utilizes the latest construction technologies to investigate, repair and strengthen concrete structures including buildings, bridges, parking facilities, and other structures within the commercial, industrial, energy and public markets. Our structural repair and strengthening technologies include fiber reinforced composites (FRP), post-tensioned reinforcement systems, concrete enlargements, and blast & ballistic mitigation systems. We deliver these value-added structural repair and retrofit solutions using state-of-the-art products and engineering support.
As an Engineer with Structural Technologies, you will apply your knowledge and develop new skills while working in a series of disciplines and groups within our Strengthening Division. This role will provide you the opportunity to customize your career path based on your interests and goals. You will attain well-rounded knowledge that will offer boundless opportunities for your professional development by working with a group of mentors with Structural Technologies.
As an entry-level engineer, you will become immersed in a variety of aspects of engineering and construction to help you develop skills in:
·On-site structural investigation, inspections and condition assessments
·Work with our Research and Development team on evaluation of concrete, steel, and FRP solutions.
·Production of technical reports and documents
·Construction methods and field implementation of repair and strengthening solutions.
·Basics of engineering analysis and design
·Business development and client relations
Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:
·Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, Material Science or related technical degree
·Eager to work “hands-on” on project sites and in the material laboratory
·Strong verbal and written communication skills
·Excellent documentation and organizational skills
·Experience with AutoCAD
·Enthusiasm and curiosity for understanding how things work and solving problems
