Strathallan Hotel, a Doubletree by Hilton is Hiring an Assistant Banquet Manager Near Rochester, NY

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Full-time management position that requires schedule flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied mix of day and evening shifts.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Food & Beverage supervisory role, minimum 1 year in banquet/events.
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a large volume and fast-paced environment.
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of POS systems.
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized with proven leadership skills and ability to deliver results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Support and manage the hotel banquet department while working closely with the food & beverage team.
  • Oversee events including meetings, conferences, special events, social events and holiday functions.
  • Ensure proper preparation and execution of events including presentation and timeliness of food and beverage, proper room sets, audio/visual needs and other details specified for each function.
  • Assign daily work duties and ensure associates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve job expectations. Evaluate staff performance and coach as needed to achieve optimal performance.
  • Approach guest encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Take an active role in understanding and anticipating guest needs to provide authentic and personalized service. Ensure a timely response to guest needs and address concerns beyond satisfaction.
  • Perform various administrative tasks including payroll, shift reports, inventory, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and credit card transactions. Protect against loss or misappropriation.
  • Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
  • Any other tasks / duties as requested by management.
