The Senior Business Analyst will function as an interface between business owners and IT product development team members regarding requirements and functionality for both new development and existing production systems. This position includes Scrum master and project management responsibilities for some work efforts Essential Duties Collaborate with Product owners to execute business strategies and ensure that the desired result is achieved in a timely manner. Review business processes and identify opportunities and strategies to improve business efficiency. Work with Product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements for the development of applications. Experience with Agile methodology, writing user stories, managing scrum calls, prioritizing backlog, etc. Contribute to product development team as a technical Business analyst including assistance with overall analysis, gathering requirements, writing user stories , logical testing, quality assurance, launch support, and post launch support as needed. Serves as the principal conduit for managing system requirements between the business and the software development team throughout the duration of a project. Partners closely with user experience analysts and designers to provide scalable user interfaces. Ongoing documentation and investigation of production support issues. Provide and promote internal communication between IT, and other functional groups within Capella. Participate in Agile Community of practice. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required. The ability to express oneself effectively within groups and in one-to-one conversations. Conveys information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents. Creates an atmosphere in which timely and high quality input/out flows smoothly between self and others. Excellent ability to organize information, manage tasks and use available tools to effectively contribute to an organization. Must have excellent problem solving skills – able to focus both on the big picture and finite details. Should be proficient in working with data. Experience gathering and documenting system requirements. Mentor less experienced business analysts and provide on-going coaching to develop others BA skills. Experience with responsive design desired. Work Experience 7 years in a business analyst role Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred or commensurate work experience Certificates, licenses and registrations Other Must be able to travel 0-10% of time. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Typical office setting. Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor. Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job. Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant Access information using a computer. Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
