What do we need?

We are seeking a Talent Management Intern to join our team in May 2024. The Intern will provide administrative support to the firm’s Human Resources and Benefits team. They will provide direct support to the HR Manager and Benefits & Wellness Manager for various projects within the department. The Intern will develop a working knowledge of Human Resources and Benefits practices in the legal field. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficient communication skills, and organizational skills. We need a part-time Intern who can work in the office for a total of 15-25 hours per week. The role could potentially continue on a part-time basis into the fall. The pay rate for this role is in the range of $17 per hour.

How will you make an impact?

  • Collaborating with the Human Resources and Benefits team to execute assigned projects.
  • Contributing to HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Tracking progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects.
  • Maintaining and updating Human Resources and Benefits spreadsheets and databases, i.e. UKG, CareFirst, EyeMed, Unum, Flores.
  • Assisting Benefits Manager with Wellness Program by assisting with events throughout the year which may include movement challenges, open houses and expos, employee rewards and financial wellness events.
  • Developing a knowledge and understanding of processes within the department and throughout the organization.
  • Assisting in conducting regular audits of UKG payroll system information and benefits vendor system to ensure accuracy of employee coverage and payroll deductions
  • Inputting all bills into ChromeRiver while ensuring accuracy of invoices.
  • Handling ordering plants and gifts for employees as needed.
  • Supporting orientation and onboarding initiatives including compliance matters.
  • Compiling census data for benefits carriers and brokers utilizing HRIS and payroll information.
  • Assisting HR Manager with New Hire Orientation and Onboarding for new employees.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in handling sensitive firm and employee information, including handling personnel files, salaries and other firm/client-related information.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of firm events, as needed.
  • Assisting other Talent Management departments (i.e. Legal Recruiting and Professional Development) with additional overflow projects and tasks, as needed.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Prior office experience preferred.
  • Interest in developing Human Resources knowledge.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills desired.
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to complete projects and assignments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
