The estate administration paralegal position assists with tasks related to estate, probate, and trust administration, as outlined below. The ideal candidate will be organized, enjoy helping others and have great communication skills along with attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Work with clients and attorneys to complete the estate administration process, including probating estates, preparing legal documents for attorney review, gathering decedent’s asset information, preparing the Pennsylvania inheritance tax return, and communicating with the Department of Public Welfare, all following the firm’s procedures.
  • Organize, maintain, and search for hard copy and electronic files as requested by attorneys or other staff.
  • Attend appointments independently or with attorneys and interact with clients and referral sources.
  • Prepare and proofread correspondence.
  • Perform triaging in accordance with Firm policies and procedures.
  • Perform general operational tasks including but not limited to answering the phone and forwarding messages, copying, scanning, mailings and postage, assisting drop-in clients, filing paperwork, handling voice mail messages, etc., all according to firm policies and procedures.
  • Preparing invoices accurately.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all client and personnel matters pursuant to the firm’s confidentiality policy.
  • Alert the supervisor or Executive Director or Attorney Steinbacher to potential threats to the success of the firm.
  • Other tasks, as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Navigates computer programs with ease to provide a quick front-desk experience for customers
  • Display excellent written, problem-solving, and verbal communication skills
  • History of being deadline-driven and extremely organized
  • At least 1-year experience in administrative or other related position
Compensation
$18 - $20 hourly
