The Bureau of Human Resources, Region 2 is currently recruiting to fill a Human Resources Assistant vacancy. This position will be located at the Department of Corrections, Jackson Correctional Institution in Black River Falls, WI.

This position provides paraprofessional, technical administrative assistance, performing a wide variety of responsible work of considerable difficulty in connection within the Human Resources Department at Jackson Correctional Institution. Responsibilities include performing a wide variety of functions including coordination of staffing activities, recruitment, interviewing and hiring process; serve as Employing Unit Coordinator for Worker’s Compensation and §230.36 benefits; provide backup to payroll, leave accounting, and benefits, and oversee the Human Resources Department record-keeping system, and distribution of personnel information.
The starting pay is between $49,920 and $55,120 per year, with excellent benefits. Salary will be determined in accordance with the current Wisconsin Compensation Plan. The pay schedule/range is 81-05. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. Region 2 will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOA, Region 2 employees are subject to fingerprinting.
