Overview

Who We Are :

The Economic Services Division (ESD) is responsible for the administration of benefits to help Vermonters meet their basic needs.

ESD Leadership recognizes that the division's biggest resource is our staff and is committed to continuously looking at ways to strengthen and support our workforce.

This position is located in the Burlington district office which is known for teamwork, strong community partnerships, office comradery.

The Role :

The Administrative Services Technician's primary role is to provide quality customer services to clients both in-person and over the phone and support the administrative functions of the office.

ESD is looking for someone to join this team who :

  • demonstrate empathy, concern, and respects for all customers
  • thrives in a busy work environment
  • has experience working with individuals who may be distraught and emotional
  • enjoys working on a team and supporting a team of individuals who are determining benefit eligibility and providing case management services
  • is open to learning new technology

The Administrative Services Technician position is an entry level position that provides individuals with experience and opportunity to grow and later pursue other positions within the division if interested.

This is an office-based position.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS : Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.

02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and / or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.

One (1) year of College level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.

One (1) year as an Administrative Services Technician III with the State of Vermont.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
