The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board (CSRAB) is responsible for maintaining the historic character of Capitol Square while providing for the health, safety and convenience of those who work in and visit the complex. CSRAB is charged with interpreting the role of Ohio's Statehouse in national and Ohio history, to celebrate its art and architecture and to highlight its ongoing impact on the daily lives of Ohioans and thereby inspire all Ohioans to participate in state government.
Statehouse MissionThe mission of the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board is to facilitate the operation of state government, preserve the historical integrity of the Capitol Square Complex and educate visitors about the history of Ohio and civics.
What You'll Do:
Under the direction of the Special Events Manager, plans, coordinates and executes all assigned events; serves as the on-site manager for weddings,
rallies, corporate events, site tours, evening events & weekend events as assigned; provides operational coordination, administrative support &
technical support (e.g., ability to discuss & implement agency rules & operating procedures & technical support (e.g., ability to discuss & implement agency rules & operating procedures relating to special events & food services; monitors manpower needs & ensures sufficient number of personnel to complete special events, inputs data into EventPro, processes clients payments); serves as the on-site manager and assumes responsibility & authority on behalf of CSRAB & their interests; ensures that the Capitol Square facilities are not damaged during events; oversees the coordination of all equipment & AV needs for scheduled events & functions; ensures that Statehouse clients receive promised materials& equipment; communicates with Special Events staff, caterers and vendors to maintain high levels of customer service; furnishes information and explains
special events & projects to caterers, vendors, clients, the public, legislators, staff & Board as required, works with Special Events Manager as needed to cultivate potential Statehouse special events clients. Conducts site visits & special events administration with potential clients; sets & conducts special tours and/or client tours as needed; coordinates CSRAB staff from various departments during an event; consults & assists wherever possible to ensure successful meetings & events; produces requested research & correspondence regarding Ohio Statehouse Special Events; other duties as assigned.

Completion of an undergraduate core program in marketing, communications, public relations or special events; 24 months experience in event or wedding coordination/execution, event/wedding sales and vendor relations; 36 months experience in multi-media techniques & in field of marketing, communications, public relations or special events; valid driver's license; physically perform manual labor & lift 50 lbs (a rack of chairs). Or 36 months experience in field of event/wedding coordination/execution, event/wedding sales and vendor relations; or 48 months experience in marketing, communications, journalism or special events dealing in public multi-media techniques & relations, public speaking, news writing, reporting & editing or special events coordination & production; valid driver's license; physically perform manual labor & lift 50 lbs (a rack of chairs). Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
