Why You’ll Love This PositionITSD is seeking to add an Applications Developer to the ITSD-DSS EA/MWA/DYS/Interfaces Team which supports various applications for the Department of Social Services. This position will be responsible for maintenance and operations on existing systems, designing and developing new software solutions, and evaluating off-the-shelf software solutions for customers. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-motivated person with great organizational and technical skills who can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS).

This Position Will Be Responsible For The Following
  • Maintenance and operations on existing applications supported by the team.
  • Requirements collection.
  • Designing developing and supporting secure interfaces between systems.
  • Database design.
  • Code development.
  • Code review and technical testing as well as creating and update relevant documentation such as user manuals.
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Must Be Able To Demonstrate
  • Knowledge related to developing and maintaining mainframe applications using DB2 for z/OS, CICS, COBOL, JCL.
  • Working knowledge of syncsort and Webaware preferred. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Knowledge of the supported business area. Ability to understand client’s needs and technical requirements and implement solutions. Ability to identify and resolve programming issues. Ability to respond to changing priorities. Ability to collaborate with other professionals.
