Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Public Relations, the Web Content Specialist will be the point person for content for the college’s website to ensure an engaging and streamlined user experience. The Web Content Specialist provides writing, editing, maintenance and support for webpages through coordination with the college community. The Specialist will be charged with developing content for pages following SEO best practices. The scope of work includes but is not limited to working with faculty to develop the college’s website content, assisting with marketing campaigns, providing written content for publications and materials and training users, taking photos and videos, editing photos and videos, and assisting with events and other college and community awareness activities as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related field (e.g. marketing, communication, business); or two years of para-professional experience in marketing, communication, public relations, journalism, or related experience; or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training, education or experience that demonstrates knowledge, skills and abilities in the area of media communications across a wide variety of electronic media.
  • Must have strong written communication skills sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction and clearly explaining complex technical ideas and procedures to varied technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must have experience managing website content management systems and website analytics tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, advertising or related field
  • Demonstrated commitment and experience working effectively with culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse students, faculty/staff, communities and/or organizations
  • Knowledge of Federal and State accessibility (Section 508) standards
  • Ability to learn new technologies and systems, and adept at training others
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take the initiative to do a job without regular help and advice from others
  • Must have the ability to manage time, operate efficiently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical ideas/information with non-technical constituents
  • Demonstrated high level of cultural competency and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning with CLCs Culture of Caring environment

Additional Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
