Job Summary

The aligned Financial Aid Office of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College is focused on providing excellent student-centered service while maintaining compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid, Information Manager is integral to the Financial Aid leadership team at Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College.

The position is responsible for assisting the Director of Financial Aid in leading the Financial Aid Office for two colleges and three campuses while managing a budget compromised of federal, state, and institutional aid programs totaling approximately $40,000,000. Duties include providing leadership for various office functions, developing queries, improving processes within the department, management and expertise for the information system modules supporting day-to-day office functions, as well as providing significant presentation/outreach support/coordination to the campus community and local communities.

This position serves as a liaison between the Financial Aid Office, the Office of Information Technology, and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. The Assistant Director also coordinates and oversees the operations of the Financial Aid Offices on all three campuses, provides administrative support to the Director, and acts as the Director in their absence. The successful candidate will have a passion for student service, equity, inclusion, and continual personal learning/growth.

This position will have responsibilities at all three campuses and the home campuses will be in Coon Rapids and Anoka. Hours of operation: Fall/Spring semester Mon thru Fri 8:00 – 4:30pm; Summer semester. Mon thru Thurs 7:30 – 5:00pm, Fri 7:30 – 11:30am. Opportunities for telework are available.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years’ experience with financial aid programs
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion work including advocating for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Ability to search tables and query data using Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Ability to analyze processes and create efficient business procedures.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, sufficient to give group presentations to students and campus community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five (5) or more years with increasing responsibility in financial aid.
  • Experience using student data systems (such as ISRS, Peoplesoft, Colleague, PowerFAIDS).
  • Experience using document imaging systems sufficient to process, query, and route documents appropriately.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and policy/procedure development.

Additional Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
