The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer provides executive-level leadership for all administrative staff and services at OAH. An agency of over 60 employees in two physical office locations and numerous occasional telework locations. The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer is OAH’s highest-level classified manager and serves as a member of OAH’s senior leadership team with the Chief Administrative Law Judge and Deputy Chief Judge.
This position is responsible for providing executive leadership to oversee, plan, organize, and direct the work of professional administrative staff in the implementation of court programs and procedures. Responsibility extends to the integration of administrative, personnel, maintenance, facilities, electronic systems, and support functions.

This position is also responsible for a broad range of advanced financial and administrative management functions. These include the development of fiscal and purchasing programs, risk management, materials management, office management, contract administration, and information technology, and management of multiple funding sources.
This position successfully deploys and integrates functions within the agency to ensure that OAH's mission and goals are realized. This includes responsibility for identifying and executing organizational change management strategies aimed at increasing end-user confidence and acceptance of change. The position requires fostering professional relationships with stakeholders within the Executive Branch and outside of state services, to ensure concerns and needs are identified and addressed. Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders has substantial complexity due to the uniqueness of OAH’S status as one of three courts within the Executive Branch.

Five years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, Financial Operations, Business Operations, Business Administration, or Public Administration, of which three are managerial, OR Seven years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, Financial Operations, Business Operations, Business Administration, or Public Administration, of which five are supervisory.

The Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is an energetic, responsive, and respected service provider to Minnesotans, state and local governments, and the workers’ compensation system. OAH is the largest of three Executive Branch Courts with over sixty full-time equivalents located in St. Paul and Duluth. OAH, with 30 judges, is comparable in size to the Ramsey County District Court with 32 judges. OAH serves over 250 state agencies and local units of government by hearing and adjudicating matters involving over 200 unique areas of law. Each year, 10,000 new workers' compensation cases are filed at OAH, involving 7,500 workers and their employers, insurers, and medical providers.
