Example of Duties:

  • Oversee staff who will schedule, arrange, staff, and document all meetings of the Boards, Committees and Commissions; ensure staff generates and posts agendas and agenda materials, arrange board member travel and assist in submission for reimbursement, ensure board meetings proceed in an organized manner, and that minutes of each meeting are created and posted in a timely manner and in accordance with law.
  • Ensure appropriate communication between board members and Division staff/leadership; ensure that the boards operate according to their statutes, rules and policies; and facilitate appropriate and effective communication between the boards and stakeholders, state government, and the public.
  • Oversee the Prescription Drug Monitoring program and approval of components for professional educational programs.
  • This position may be required to serve as an Executive Officer to assigned boards or commissions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge of management practices.
  • Experience: managing a major program and supervising staff.

Minimum Qualification Specialties:
Expertise in:

  • Managing and improving program development and performance
  • Analyzing complex management issues and developing recommendations for improvement

Experience in:

  • Analyzing data and preparing written reports about findings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in effective communication and collaboration skills to work with other division leaders, boards, and stakeholders on both a national and local level.
  • Experience interpreting and applying rules, policies, and procedures related to program operations to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Experience working with boards/commissions, and programs to include establishing and maintaining relationships with Board chairs and Board members, and partial or full execution of Board meetings.
  • Healthcare background with ability to easily communicate with healthcare professionals and licensees/registrants.
